Non-medical home care in Reno & Sparks
Compassionate, background-checked caregivers help your loved one stay safe, independent, and comfortable in the home they love, from a few hours a week to around-the-clock support.
A simple conversation. Clear answers. No pressure.
Understanding your options
Non-medical home care is practical, person-to-person support with everyday life. A caregiver comes to the home to help with routines such as bathing and dressing, meals, light housekeeping, errands, transportation, reminders and genuine companionship.
It is different from skilled nursing or clinical care. The goal is to help your loved one remain safe, comfortable and connected in familiar surroundings while giving family caregivers reliable support.

Our local team can help you understand your payment options, what documentation may be needed, and the next steps for private pay, long-term care insurance, VA Community Care, or VA Aid & Attendance.
Please note: Medicaid is not accepted by the Reno office. Program eligibility, authorized services and reimbursement are determined by the applicable insurer or government program.
Why families choose us
Every caregiver completes a thorough screening process, including a national background check, reference verification and skills screening, before their first shift. Each caregiver is covered by bonding and insurance, and if a regular caregiver is unavailable, a qualified backup is arranged so your loved one is not left without scheduled care.
National background checks, reference verification, skills screening, bonding and insurance help answer the trust question before care begins.
If your regular caregiver is unavailable, a qualified backup is arranged so your loved one is not left without scheduled care.
Meet your caregiver in advance and request a different match until your family feels completely comfortable.
Add hours, reduce them or pause care as needs change, so your family stays in control.
Locally owned. Personally inspired.
SYNERGY HomeCare of South Reno is owned and operated by Nathan and Amanda Starr, a husband-and-wife team with deep roots in community service. We founded our agency to honor Nathan’s late mother, whose compassion and dedication to helping others continue to inspire us.
For us, caregiving is personal. Our own family’s experience caring for loved ones showed us the difference that dependable, heartfelt support can make. As a family-owned and independently operated agency, we treat every client like family because we’ve been there, and we know how much it matters.
